A light shines on an empty stage, except for a dilapidated sofa and dry leaves around it.
Two heads wearing archaic helmets peek out from the sofa. These are A and B, former soldiers of some army, and currently neither here nor there.
They spend their time in games, dreams, fights and repeated reconciliations. They cling to the impossible reality of their lives and are afraid to part with it, insisting with all vehemence to remain heroes in their own eyes.
The show is accompanied by songs from military bands, marching anthems and the sounds of cannons drawn from our Israeli culture
Original idea, writing and acting: Ruti Tamir and Ofra Hoffman
Dramaturgy and directing: Eyal Nachmias
Produced by the “Short Play Festival” Tzavta Theater

"... A most impressive stage image.... a kind of Israeli tribute to the characters of Samuel Beckett. The notebooks, Ruti Tamir and Ofra Hoffman play two veteran soldiers who are still deeply trapped in their military past. From a large, dusty couch, from which, like a tape of children from hell, the two heads peek out, joking, quarreling, reconciling, missing...Tamir and Hoffman are excellent"
"...an interesting play, fascinating, very original. A couch is spread out on the stage. Two heads of soldiers wearing steel caps emerge from it. They talk about life. about themselves. about the past about a reality that is difficult for them to detach from.
The theatrical experience, which is first and foremost aesthetic, conceptual, artistic."
"The Heads" is a creative, original, and thought-provoking show. Tamir and Hoffman demonstrate precision, virtuosity of expressions, and a wide range of emotions with only their heads sticking out and managing to captivate the audience".
